A mantel clock that keeps your real time, rain at the window, an old house settling around you. Start it, dim the screen, and leave it by the bed.
The clock
Set to your phone's time. Westminster quarters on warm gong rods, then the hour struck on a deep rod.
The room
Turn on what you'd like to hear. The occasional sounds arrive at random, so they never fall into a pattern.
Bedtime
The room can fade away once you're asleep. The clock keeps going all night.
The room has gone quiet.
On your iPhone
Keep it on the home screen. Open this page in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Leave the page open. iPhone pauses web sounds when the screen locks, so tap Dim the screen instead of locking. Plug the phone in for the night.
No sound? Turn the volume up, and check the silent switch or Action button on the side of the phone.
Play it on a HomePod or other speaker. Once the clock is running, open Control Center, press and hold the Night Parlour tile, tap the AirPlay icon and choose your speaker. On a Mac, choose the speaker under Sound in Control Center.
